Life Is NOT Over After Divorce

As a divorce mediator I meet a number of really wonderful people who simply find themselves in an unfortunate situation. And while it’s hard to think about your future while you’re in the middle of disconnecting yourself from your past (and quite possibly not by your choice) I want you to remember this quote: “be sure to look at life through the windshield and not the rear view mirror.” Especially at this time of year we all find ourselves looking back over the past year and reminiscing. Some of us over good times and some of us over well… but one thing is for certain: life goes on and it’s important you remember that.

So as this year comes to a close, I want you to think about making an investment in you. Now that you find yourself here, I know you’ve spent a considerable amount of emotional energy contemplating a divorce and so I’m going to ask you to spend an equal amount of that energy on contemplating your future. Yes, it certainly is a big, scary thing to do but with the help of a life reinvention coach, it becomes a whole lot easier and a whole lot more fruitful.

And while I don’t mean to belittle what you’re going through by any means (I know what it’s like from personal experience) just know that it will get better and you can live the life you imagined. Like those investing brochures always say “past performance is no guarantee of future results” in the case of divorce that’s a good thing.
