Joseph Dillon of Equitable Mediation Services to speak at NJAPM Annual Conference
As an Accredited Professional Divorce Mediator in New Jersey, I am always in search of learning opportunities to stay up to date on the latest techniques in divorce mediation and trends in divorce law. One of the best ways I’ve found to do that is by attending the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators annual mediation conference which this year will be held on Saturday November 13, 2010 at the Imperia Hotel in Somerset, NJ. But it truly is an honor when one is afforded the opportunity to be a speaker at such a conference and I am fortunate enough to have that opportunity!
That being said I am pleased to announce that I will be presenting a session entitled: “Race, Ethnicity, Religion and Gender: Their Impact on Mediation” at the NJAPM annual mediation conference with my colleague Ms. Ritu Chopra and I couldn’t be more honored! Being a great divorce mediator in NJ takes more than a thorough understanding of NJ divorce law. It takes an understanding of the role these types of issues play in a client couple’s lives and an awareness of one’s own personal biases and their impact on bringing the clients to a mediated agreement. As an Accredited Professional Divorce Mediator in NJ, I am always looking for ways to challenge my understandings and assumptions about these types of issues and being able to speak to an audience regarding them is just one of the many ways I try to gain a new perspective.
After the presentation is over, I’ll be sure to post our presentation here on the Equitable Mediation Services website but in the meantime, should you have any questions about divorce mediation or how mediation can benefit you, please feel free to call me, Joseph Dillon at (908) 864-2177 to arrange a consultation for you and your spouse.
